To start :

1. Create your concept. What lines to you want to create? Start to sketch this out on the head so you can see how much room you will have for the braids and get a feel for the head shape and over all density of the hair.

2. Start with your hair damp. This allows cleaner sections. Apply a product that moistens and softens the hair. I used  Foundation Mist from Oribe. You then want to apply a product that gives you grip and a sheen on the hair for your braided sections.  I used Star Glow Styling Wax from Oribe.

3. Start your sections with a tail comb for clean lines and clip away organized sections. This will be key for a superior finish.

4. Start your braid tight at the hairline. Take your first couple strands and then start feeding in new sections. I like to use a tail comb to feed my new strands and comb through the hair in my hand so it's clean and smooth with every motion.

5. I continue this though my section till I run out of hair to feed into my braid. I then cap off with an elastic band or braid till the end of the strand. This depends on the look.

6. Finish the whole head in this way.

 7. To take it one step further like this image. I wrapped the individual braids all up into a chignon at the base of her head. So she can wear off her neck if she choses or on day two or three if she wants to get more wear out of the look. Any ques…
